MOCA Headliner Series presents Scott “Chops” Jung of Mountain Brothers


Founded in 1980, Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) is dedicated to preserving and presenting the history, heritage, culture and diverse experiences of people of Chinese descent in the United States. The greatly expanded MOCA at 215 Centre Street will continue to be a national home for the precious narratives of diverse Chinese American communities, while striving to be a model among interactive museums.

MOCA and $6.99 Per Pound Podcast presents their first live recording featuring Asian American Hip Hop pioneer, Scott “Chops” Jung! Hosts Jaeki Cho and Joann Park will sit down with Chops to discuss how his group, Mountain Brothers, became the first ever Asian American Hip Hop group signed to a major label in the 1990s and how Hip Hop has evolved over the years. They will also highlight his work with artists (Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Raekwon, Talib Kweli), brands (Nike, Coca Cola, X Games), and TV shows/Films (Warrior, Wu Assassins, Empire, Grey’s Anatomy).
